Bright Sky, Light Wind
Halfway through the May, we're still warm. It's not too noticeable because we've gotten used to it. Unlike the last 5 months which were way above average, the first two weeks of this month have been just a couple of degrees warmer than average. That's the trend through the weekend. Temperatures today through Sunday will be few degrees above average in the middle or upper 80s.
The weather pattern is calm and the winds are near calm too. North of the I-10 corridor winds will whisper out of the north. At the coast and south of I-10 you'll have a southerly whisper. Mornings are quiet and by afternoons we'll see fluffy flocks of cumulus clouds under sunny skies. Only a handful of locations may see a shower or thunderstorm so rain chances are low.
For the year, Mobile is a couple of inches above average for rainfall at 26" while Pensacola is below average at 18". Some pop up thunderstorms become more likely this weekend but I don't see any big or rainy weather systems approaching any time soon but that picture can change. Make the most of the dry and seasonable days and nights.
